Final update on recent legislative session...

As you may have noticed, I have been posting a summary of legislation passed in our recent session over the past few weeks. We got a lot accomplished!!

This week I am going to conclude these updates with a summary of legislation on a number of issues not previously covered.

In the area of housing we passed the following bills:

  • Housing bond bill
  • Education relief for "smart growth" cities and towns
  • Housing and homelessness funding.

For Veterans we passed the following bills:

  • Support for public employees on military duty
  • Welcome home bill
  • The Ed Connolly Military Enhanced Relief Individual Tax Plan

With regard to the environment we passed:

  • Energy efficient appliances
  • Comprehensive Mercury management
  • Modernizing Toxics Use Reduction Act

With regard to Consumer Choice and Privacy Rights we passed:

  • Interstate Wine Shipments
  • Protecting Drivers' Privacy Rights

Reform bills passed include:

  • New Committee Structure
  • Limiting Outside Sections
  • Comprehensive Welfare Reform
