We just learned that a young man from Malden, Marine Lance Corporal Edward M. Garvin, was killed in Iraq. The Boston Globe has this story.

Our deepest sympathies go out to the family.

Blog publishing gaining in popularity...

According to this article in today's Boston Globe Paul Levy, the Chief Executive of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, has started publishing a blog. I also learned from this article that Cardinal O'Malley is publishing a blog.

I know most of my colleagues in the State House have Websites but I'm not aware of any that have yet started publishing a blog. That is likely to change as people realize this is a good communications tool.
